Which type of carpet should I choose?

We recommend choosing something hard-wearing with a short, dense pile (loop or twist) for your stairs and landing and other high-traffic areas. The appearance is maintained and the pile flattening is less prominent with this choice of carpet. However, in a room such as your bedroom, you may wish to choose a thick Saxony twist pile. This will give you a more luxurious feel. The pile content will then affect your carpet choice – 100% polypropylene offers a bleach-cleanability and stain warranty. Wool carpets offer better wear quality and longevity, but cannot be cleaned with bleach to remove any stains.

My carpet has a visable line approx 30cm from the wall, what can I do?

The majority of carpets that are stored, waiting to be fitted, will display a crushed line approx. 30-40cm from a wall. This line is simply a pressure line, and not a manufacturing fault.

A pressure line is formed when the carpet is rolled around the cardboard tube for stability. To keep carpets clean, they are rolled pile-in from the point of order, and when the first roll around the pole meets the carpet pile again, it applies pressure to the carpet tufts. This line is very common and not to be worried about. Regular hoovering and fluffing of the pile will soon relieve this pressure. If the line has not improved in appearance within 2-3 weeks, please contact us, and we will be more than happy to help.
