Plain Coloured Carpets

A new sea of colour is something to behold, whatever that colour may be

Choose from a huge range of colours to complement your home

You may have decided what type of carpet you would like, whether it’s a Twist, Saxony or Loop for example, but now is the time to choose the right colour to match your decor and furnishings. When choosing the right colour, we recommend you take a sample home as carpet colours will vary in different lights and against other colour influences in your room. Not only will light affect the colour of the carpet, but also the times of day and artificial lights. Make sure you have taken the time to choose the carpet in daylight, at night, first thing in the morning and in the afternoon when the sun moves around the room and creates shadows. All these factors will play a part in the perfect match.

When selecting colours, try to pick a colour that is timeless and will match any future decorating plans. Make other parts of your room the feature, and let the plain carpet colour blend in nicely. This will save you recarpeting, should you wish to repaint. Recycling is the way forward.

Plain carpets are produced in single tones, heathers and Berbers. Heather shades are a tufted blend of two colours, and Berber carpets have a multitude of colours. You can also purchase carpets in a modern ‘tweed’ design. Tweed is becoming a more popular option, as it provides a very small pattern which helps to hide a multitude of sins (and allows you to hoover a little less) without having to go big and bold with a large patterned or striped carpet design.

All of our carpets on display or carpets ranges on the roll have samples you are welcome to borrow. Please click here for more information. We can also bring samples to a measuring service, so if you need help with measuring your room, as well as colour advice, why not book a free measuring service today?
