Here at Hereward Carpets, having been a local business for over 30 years, we have always believed that the local community is important to us. We support local charities, events, and causes in any way we can. In the past, this has included sponsoring the Werrington Carnival, a children’s football team, and sponsoring a local school Christmas fayre (we organised real reindeer to attend the event!). However, we now need your help to collect for National Food Bank Week.
Sunday 12th until Saturday 18th October is National Food Bank Week. We will be collecting and donating our own food donations throughout the week. These will then be collected for the local food bank at Little Miracles charity in Peterborough.
While all donations are very gratefully received, there are some items that are more essential at this time. These include the following; pasta, rice, and noodles, as well as cooking oil, tins of beans, fish, and soup. They also need tinned veg, pulses, and fruit, as well as jars of sauces, sugar, and long-life milk. Packet deserts, cereals, cereal bars, school lunchbox items, and everyday sauces are very welcome too. Tea, coffee, squash, and hot chocolate would also be gratefully received.
While it is National Food Bank Week, there are also some hygiene products that the charity would gladly receive. These include toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath, and shower gel. Items like shaving foam, cosmetic wipes, sanitary products, and deodorant would be gratefully received. The charity also needs nappies, baby wipes, baby milk formula, and cotton wool buds.
If these are things you can donate to help the local community, please drop them in. While we are not officially collecting until Monday 13th October (as we are closed on Sunday), we will happily take donations before this time.
Thank you so much in advance for helping us collect for National Food Bank Week. We look forward to sharing photos on social media of how generous Hereward Carpets customers are.
